Research Assistant A progressive Washington, DC research firm is seeking a full-time research assistant to work at the helm of research, sales, and speaker relations at a public opinion research company.
The research assistant will liaise between the Research, Sales, and Executive Office departments to synthesize internal research into clear and concise presentations.
This role plays a key role in equipping the executive partner with knowledge of research relevant to HIT's demographic audiences and topics, managing company-wide strategic research initiatives, and preparing the executive partner in presenting research for sales enablement and speaking engagements.
Due to the company's startup nature, a dedicated self-starter who is eager to apply their research prowess and curiosity will succeed in this role.
We seek someone who can work cross functionally to translate research across our research pods and distill the most pertinent information for public facing and sales presentations.
Additionally, we work closely with high-profile political organizations and candidates, so interest in electoral politics, social activism, or advocacy work is required.

Attend relevant research meetings to maintain current knowledge on research developments and key insights from the research pods Attend client meetings in partners' absence to take minutes Create a review list of research tasks requested by the HIT staff and clients for the executive partner to complete Collect and synthesize external and public research Create presentations using PowerPoint that synthesize key insights on company research, especially insights with implications on communities at the center of HIT's mission Maintain repository of existing presentation collateral via SharePoint Identify critical partner needs and create briefing sheets to ensure preparedness for public presentations Provide research support for special projects Qualifications 2 years of relevant work experience including:
Knowledge of or experience in the research life cycle Experience reading and synthesizing a poll Distilling relevant findings and implications 1 year of experience in project management including meeting preparation, identification of key deliverables, and follow-up Experience creating PowerPoint presentations for managers, executives, and/or principals Clear and effective writing and editing skills Ability to problem solve using political knowledge and critical thinking to navigate work The following qualifications are preferred but not required:
Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Marketing, Mass Communications, Economics, Statistics, Humanities, or a related concentration Salary and Benefits Annual salary range:
$50,000 - $65,000 Unlimited vacation and sick days Health care with 80% of employee premiums paid by HIT Strategies capped at $300 monthly 401(k) retirement plan with discretionary profit sharing Employee Assistance Program including 24/7 confidential counselling Employee discount program Home office reimbursement capped at $1,500 (first year) Utilities reimbursement capped at $1,500 annually Professional development at $1,000 annually.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
