Are you a savvy, detail-oriented professional with a knack for numbers and a passion for real estate? We are currently seeking a Property Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of an industry-leading organization, where you'll have the chance to leverage your skills and make a significant impact. You will be responsible for overseeing the financial health of our property portfolio, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded and reported. Responsibilities:
As a Permanent Property Accountant, you will be expected to:
1. Oversee property accounting functions, including but not limited to, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger maintenance, and financial statement preparation.
2. Perform CAM reconciliations and ensure all related expenses are accurately allocated to tenants in accordance with lease agreements.
3. Utilize Yardi software to streamline accounting processes and generate financial reports.
4. Monitor and analyze lease accounting transactions and ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulations.
5. Prepare and present financial analysis reports to management, providing insights to guide strategic decision-making.
6. Collaborate with internal and external auditors during financial and operational audits.
7. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and developments, and apply this knowledge to improve accounting processes and procedures.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Permanent Property Accountant position will have:
1. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
2. A minimum of 2 years of experience in property accounting or a similar role.
3. Proven experience with CAM reconciliations, general ledger management, and lease accounting.
4. Proficiency in using Yardi or a similar property management software.
5. Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex financial data.
6. Excellent attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in work output.
7. Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly and effectively.
8. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
9. A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
10. A professional accounting designation (CPA, CMA, CGA) would be considered an asset.
