A private non-profit DC-based agency seeks a
Job Developer
to join its team. The Job Developer will assist the Program Manager with developing, organizing and structuring the Job Placement component of the program. The incumbent will establish partnerships with employers in the DC area in order to develop job placements. S/he will develop individual employment plans that outline job-readiness, employment, and retention; design and implement employer engagement initiatives which include employer research, marketing, and solicitation and direct door-to-door recruitment; locate and join local workforce and job coalition partnerships and attend relevant meetings. Prepare written reports and look for opportunities for program enhancements or partnerships. BA and minimum 2 years of experience in a community-based setting; minimum 4/5 years experience working in the field of job development or with employment programs; experience in building professional relationships with the employer community and preparing candidates for soliciting employment opportunities.
Must obtain a FBI, Police and Child Abuse Registry Clearance; be available during evenings and weekends, and must provide health certification and proof of TB screening test.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
