This position is located in the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), Office of Supervision Policy, Division of Supervision, Fair Lending and Enforcement. The Office of Supervision Policy is responsible for developing supervision strategy across bank and non bank markets, ensuring consistency in policy decisions in supervisory markets, and providing ongoing expert support to examiners in each product market. As an Attorney-Advisor, you will provide policy and legal advice to leadership in the Office of Supervision Policy and serve as a subject matter expert on consumer financial protection laws on one or more consumer financial products/
industries. Subject matter expertise in the areas of consumer financial law including mortgage, auto, and student loan origination is preferred. You will also be responsible for working closely with a team of attorneys, analysts, and CFPB's regional supervision team.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
