JOB INFORMATION The hiring group supports the modeling and business analytics functions across the company with governance, controls and other risk
management
activities related to model development, software implementation and use of models and analytics in business processes. The support covers a large spectrum of activities including design and execution of large projects to achieve model risk management objectives, and requires a high degree of interaction with internal and external oversight groups. The candidate for this role will, under limited supervision, plan, manage, and execute varied projects and programs related to model and software development lifecycle, coordinate reviews and validations of models, modeling applications and business processes. Work is generally high in complexity and requires the individual to develop solutions and resolve a wide range of issues. As required the individual will hire, manage, train, develop, and evaluate staff. KEY JOB FUNCTIONS Leverage mortgage and finance industry background to understand financial modeling methodologies, functions, uses, and the risk associated with these uses. Utilize broad expertise and specialized knowledge to manage day-to-day model risk management activities related to risk identification, gap analysis, establishing appropriate controls, process documentation and process re-engineering. Plan and execute relatively large or complex project(s), including milestones, resources needed in the form of staff hours, budget, use of technology and tools and document in project plan, following established project management methodology. Track course of projects, communicate and escalate as required, and report on progress. Assess compliance of model development and business processes with required internal and external policies and industry best
practices
. Provide guidance to project staff and help develop less experienced members of the team; may manage staff of analysts. May plan, document, manage and evaluate staff performance, or contribute to evaluation by their managers. EDUCATION Bachelor's Degree or equivalent required Master or other Advanced Degree in Business or Economics will be an asset MINIMUM EXPERIENCE 6-8 years of related experience, demonstrating progressively challenging assignments in related industry SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS Must have experience with development, implementation, and/or re-engineering of financial models and model-based applications, or administering analytics for complex financial
systems
. Experience with regulatory guidance on model risk management would be a plus. Must have sound organizational skills and strong familiarity with SOX, SDLC, technology controls, and risk management.
