Java/Solr Developer (Job Number:402515)
Description:
The successful candidate will work with multiple servers and JVM instances to troubleshoot and maintain existing Java programs on Windows and Linux; will build custom scripts and applications to facilitate data crawling, data analysis, and reporting; and will create connectors to support data hand-off between other custom components, such as Solr-Nutch. Familiarity with Ruby/Rails a plus.
Qualifications:
Bachelor''s degree from an accredited institute in
computer
Science, Mathematics, or other Engineering or Technical discipline and 7 years of related experience.
The position requires software engineering and programming experience with development, modification, and updates of software using high order languages and Agile Development methodologies. The position requires strong programming knowledge and experience in Java JRE/JDK; familiarity with the Open Source environment; and experience with the Solr open source search engine. Should also be experienced with operation, configuration and maintenance of Apache and Microsoft Internet Information Server web servers. Should be fluent with software development best practices.
Expertise in the development and automatic deployment of applications. Demonstrated skill sets to design, develop, implement, and maintain all appropriate abstracted structures, applications and infrastructure. Understanding of architecture and technology best practices at all appropriate levels of abstraction (e.g. application and desktop virtualization, virtual appliances, web abstraction). Experience maintaining compliance with DoD and Army standards to include Information Assurance and Networthiness.
Must be a U.S. citizen and be able to attain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
Personnel providing systems administration support shall be at a minimum Information Assurance Training (IAT) Level II certified or have the ability to meet IAT Level II requirements within 180 days of appointment.
