JOB INFORMATION Use advanced mathematical, analytical, or econometric tools to create algorithms that will be used in analytical or product development processes. Using these tools, develop or refine
applications that provide deeper analysis of prospective asset performance, asset pricing, new asset
, or information needed to measure or hedge risk. Provide ongoing analysis of new products or asset classes, and suggest program modifications as necessary. May test applications for accuracy and functionality before putting them into service. KEY JOB FUNCTIONS Confer with product managers, marketing staff, capital market staff, or business unit
to determine analytical or product-related needs regarding product, investment instrument, market activity, or complex transaction to be analyzed. Use one or more analytical tools from a suite of mathematical/application tools to perform appropriate analysis on specified product, transaction, market activity, or investment vehicle that has multiple variables affecting potential outcomes. Report in quantitative manner on parameters of proposed purchase, sale, marketing action, structure of transaction or market activity, or risk factors and the degree to which they could affect outcomes. Participate with product management, treasury, or capital markets staff in exercises to value derivatives or other complex products, or to revise models used to perform these valuations. Perform loss forecast analysis and reporting; perform ongoing ad hoc model development and analysis for specific clients needing high level quantitative analysis of credit risk, product valuation, asset analysis, and the like. EDUCATION Bachelor's Degree or equivalent required MINIMUM EXPERIENCE 6 years of related experience SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS Ability to play a "Business to Technology" liaison role. Partner with business teams (Capital Markets, Market Risk, Pricing, etc) to produce business requirements and use case documents. Reside within the technology organization to then convert the business requirements to solution/technical specifications that can be coded and tested to. Knowledge of Capital Markets, Secondary Mortgage Market, MBS Securitization, Loan life cycle, trade life cycle and market risk management metrics is required. CFA, FRM or equivalent certification is a plus. Strong SQL skills to be able to navigate and analyze large amounts of data. Strong excel or other utility tool expertise to develop prototypes, examples, use cases, etc. Familiarity with SDLC, attention to details and ability to multitask between complex assignments. Experience with using BI tools like MicroStrategy, Tableu, BusinessObjects a plus. Strong understanding of application software technology - should be excited about problem solving using software technology. Good documentation skills to communicate requirements, impact analysis of changes in upstream systems, analysis notes for management to help decision making. Good oral communication skills to represent team in broader meetings, to communicate complex issues in clear and simple terms to team and management, ability to speak the language of the listener - business analysts, developers, testers, senior management, etc. Ability to break down solutions to complex business problems into simple steps that can be coded to and maintainable in the long run. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
