Robert Half Legal is seeking a government contracts paralegal who will research law, investigate facts, and prepares documents to assist Government Contracts attorneys. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. (Out of town travel may be required.) - Prepares legal documents such as GAO bid protest pleadings, SBA size protests and appeals, Court of Federal Claims complaints and motions, and other government contracts documents for review, approval, and use by attorneys. - Coordinates document production including summarizing documents, attending productions, reviewing documents, preparing documents for copying and production. Prepares and organizes materials for depositions. Indexes and summarizes depositions and deposition exhibits. - Assists with brief preparation including cite checking, Shepardizing, proofing, quotation verification and compilation of appendices and addendums. - Assists with trial preparation including preparing exhibits, notebooks, checklists and witness files. Coordinates the schedules of witnesses and experts. - Attends trials and acts as liaison with outside vendors for the preparation of charts, graphs, etc. - Maintains and organizes trial exhibits and documents at court and arranges for transportation. - Investigates facts of case and prepares summaries and memos concerning the data. - Organizes and maintains document form files and client files. - Creates PowerPoint presentations and Excel spreadsheets. - Database case management including developing information retrieval systems. - Researches and analyzes government contracts legal sources such as cases, statutes, legal articles, regulations and public records. - Assists in preparation of marketing materials, including review of Federal databases containing information regarding contractor and contract information of government contractors. . Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to all levels of individuals in the Firm, clients and public groups. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. FLEXIBLE SCHEDULE: Ability and willingness to have a flexible schedule, including early mornings, late evenings, and occasional weekends. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Legal Assistant Certificate is desirable. OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES: Ability to use Microsoft Office software (including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) for drafting documents and correspondence; knowledge of litigation support software. Exposure to legal research systems.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
