The successful candidate will:
Work with IT professionals, technologists, and data security professionals in global server technology, database architecture, and information networks
Have a working knowledge of intellectual property law
Analyze laws and corporate policies and standards related to information technology, software development and licensing, geocompliance, hardware leasing and acquisition, intellectual property, data protection, and information security
Have experience with legal strategic planning in implementing global technology acquisitions; administering, monitoring, and managing contracts for technology products and services; and resolving business disputes
Be skilled and have broad experience designing and implementing corporate governance processes and procedures on a global scale
Be experienced with technology-related outsourcing and offshoring, including legal risk assessments and due diligence
Be skilled with gathering information in a fast-paced business environment, understanding business needs and goals, detecting legal issues and obstacles, identifying legal solutions and alternatives, and succinctly and competently counseling and communicating with executives and mid-level managers regarding legal risks, solutions, and alternatives
Basic
Qualifications: 5
years experience as a practicing attorney. Juris Doctorate. State Bar membership is required.
Minimum
Qualifications: Demonstrated ability to provide research, counsel and guidance on complex legal questions or inquiries. Ability to analyze legal issues in substantive law in area of practice, provide effective advice to clients on routine legal matters. Strong verbal and written communications skills; interpersonal skills; excellent organizational skills and attention to detail; flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and deadlines.
At least 6 years of relevant legal experience working in a corporate law department or law firm. Ability to advise and counsel senior technology management. Confident and capable of working with both technology and business contacts in a constantly evolving environment. Comfortable working as part of a globally distributed leadership team. Adept at presenting information in a format that gains the trust and confidence of technical and business audiences and facilitates senior-management decision making. Customer-oriented.
Preferred Skills:
Knowledge of information security laws and standards. Knowledge of intellectual property laws.
