The selected candidate's primary responsibilities will be to provide Video Teleconferencing, Implementation and Maintenance support of VTC initiatives for a Government Agency. Provide management and oversight to Audio Visual integrators/partners and employees on video teleconferencing projects. Provide leadership on new/upgraded video teleconferencing projects in the areas of project design and engineering. Provide engineering and technical input to create, maintain, and implement video engineering standards. This position requires the following functions to be performed as needed: Designing, engineering, installation, troubleshooting, repairing, testing, supporting conferences, and monitoring. Must have experience with Cisco/Tandberg MCUs, Video Communications Server, ISDN Gatekeeper, and end point products. Experience with larger enterprise IP networks and related networking equipment.
Must comply with all DOD guidance and policies in VTC project engineering and design. Knowledge of DoD policies and procedures with regard to the installation, configuration, and management of Cisco VTC Systems to perform real time conference scheduling, bridge management, and connectivity support for a global IP and ISDN video teleconferencing network. Ability to provide technical and operational guidance for DOD customers in establishing and operating video teleconferencing systems. Ability to thrive in a high OPTEMPO environment and handle requirements on a daily basis.
Configure and test new technology to enhance the current systems and pioneer technology for new systems. Candidate should be fully experienced with cable fabrication, as well as troubleshooting of communications lines and equipment. May serve as team lead or assist team lead for the management of tasks.
This position is located in Washington, DC. There is no relocation assistance available for this position. Applicants must be currently residing in or state willingness to relocate self to Washington DC or surrounding areas.
Required Skills and Education
Active high level DoD security clearance with a current SSBI adjudicated within the past 3 years
Minimum 6 years of direct experience with Video Teleconferencing/AV integration design, engineering,
installation and support
High school diploma and at least 14 years related experiece
Security
and Network
certifications in accordance with DOD 8570 Instruction
Experience with Wide Area Networks and Local Area Networks
IT experience with routers
IP network experience
BoIP and VoIP experience
Knowledge of Test Equipment: O-scope, Fireberd, transmission test sets
Capable of systems analysis with high complex technologies
Familiarity with patch panels
Ability to be self-reliant
Capability to perform essential technical maintenance activities without direct supervision
Excellent oral and written communications skills
Ability to professionally interact with high level military officers and civilian officials on a daily basis
Quality assurance experience with both new and upgraded telecommunications systems
Experience with the development and presentation of briefings
Trainer / training experience
Positive service oriented attitude
Military experience / knowledge of customs and courtesies
Preferred Skills and Education
Knowledge of telecommunications fundamentals
Microsoft Certification (MCSA, MCP, MCS)
CCNA/CCNP or other CISCO certifications
