Key Role:
Serve as a senior systems engineer on a collaborative team to support the Department of Veterans Affairs. Lead analysis and support the documentation of the VA's to-be enterprise IT environment. Engage VA stakeholders, vendors, and industry experts and apply systems engineering concepts to document key attributes of the to-be IT environment, through a highly collaborative process. Maintain responsibility for the development of enterprise-level design pattern documents that describe the technical architecture principles for VA's Service Oriented Architecture (SOA). Conduct research and analysis efforts to gather and document industry best practices and technical trends used to develop properly scoped design pattern documents aligned to applicable use cases. Provide technical writing and analysis, develop presentations, and support project schedule maintenance, ensuring timely delivery of milestones. Communicate with internal and external stakeholders and facilitate meetings with large audiences.
Basic
Qualifications:
-4 years of experience with developing and analyzing technical documents
-3 year of experience with developing use cases or process flows using BPMN
-Experience with SOA concepts, mobile application development, and IT infrastructure, including patch management or configuration management
-Ability to work in a fast-paced and collaborative team environment
-Ability to obtain a security clearance
-BS degree

-Experience with enterprise architecture
-Experience with supporting SDLC processes on an IT project
-Experience with developing architecture models using frameworks, including DoDAF
-Experience with ITIL and IT Service Management (ITSM) concepts
-Possession of excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
-BS degree in CS, Systems Engineering, or an IT-related field
