Job Description
The Associate Dean of Campus Nursing Education, in collaboration with the School of Nursing (SON) Dean, provides strategic leadership and is responsible for facilitation of effective delivery of nursing education at the KU campus-based nursing programs.
The incumbent provides guidance to ensure standards and outcomes for the nursing education program outcomes and faculty performance are met, including but not limited to NCLEX performance, clinical standards, program completion, and faculty development. The Associate Dean of Campus Nursing Education will lead new and continued programmatic accreditation initiatives and ensure compliance with state regulatory requirements.
Key Job Responsibilities
Leads new and continued institutional and professional programmatic accreditation initiatives, including HLC, CCNE, ACEN, and NLN-CNEA
Ensures compliance with board of nursing regulatory requirements for nursing education programs
Directs the hiring, training, evaluation and retention of AD-CNs and faculty in collaboration with campus leadership
Identifies professional development opportunities for AD-CNs and nursing faculty that promote improved program and student outcomes
Assures the effective coordination between the nursing education programs and campus support services to promote improved program and student outcomes
Guides the campus nursing programs participation in quality monitoring processes, including program compliance with professional nursing standards and outcomes and state regulatory requirements
Extensive experience and success in meeting benchmarks successful metric of regulated program outcomes, including NCLEX passage rates, program completion rates, employment rates
Participates in development, implementation, evaluation and revision of policies and practices related to the campus nursing education programs
Collaborates with the SON and campus leadership to plan for new locations, programs and facilitates changes for campus nursing programs
Develops and promotes initiatives to enhance student enrollment, retention, program completion, and job placement
Represents the campus nursing programs, on behalf of the SON, with communities of interest, including but not limited to Boards of Nursing, professional nursing organizations, clinical facilities, and nursing education colleagues
Assists in resolution of faculty and student escalations and appeals related to nursing education program standards, policies and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications
Master's in Nursing and PhD, preferably in Nursing, combined with an active, unencumbered Iowa or Compact State RN license, and in states where the university offers campus nursing
5 - 7 years' administrative nursing experience that demonstrates healthcare leadership experience, financial accountability, enrollment management, strategic planning
Minimum of 3 years' experience teaching in pre- or post-licensure nursing programs
Ability to use the full suite of MS Office products and email; spreadsheets, research and statistical analysis software
Successful completion of graduate-level statistics course
Proven skills in communication, consensus-building, advocacy, negotiation and conflict management
Evidence of technical and professional writing acuity.
Ability to work independently with light supervision.
Membership in professional nursing organizations
Exceptional interpersonal skills, teamwork and visionary leadership

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
