Job Description
Instructional Designers will participate in the design and development of online courses; provide instructional design support and guidance to subject matter experts (SMEs) in the creation of online course content; work collaboratively with other development team members in the production of online courses, and associated print materials. Assist in the creation of innovative solutions to challenges faced by the development team.
II - Intermediate level; Accountable for work beyond immediate task/area; Moderate scope and complexity, has mastered basic duties and is being exposed to more complex tasks; Receives occasional direction; typically requires 2-4
years direct experience within the function.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as a mentor to Instructional Designer I
Provide support for moderately complex course development initiatives for assigned online courses and course materials to ensure that all courses are current, application-based or practitioner-oriented and are of the appropriate level Conduct analysis to determine course requirements for new courses and deficiencies of existing courses based on quality standard
Aid in forecasting project timelines
Identify and plan the milestones within the schedule of each course development and project
Perform other duties as assigned to achieve organizational goals.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree with focus in Instructional Design, Education, Educational Technology
2-4
years' related experience in:
Instructional design methodology and adult learning theory
Development of e-learning training for online applications
Documentation creation and management
Experience engaging in multiple course development projects
Design innovative approaches to basic design problems for training solutions
Understanding and application of Kaplan Way for Learning principles and practices
Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Suite,
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to manage design critiques and facilitate peer review
Technical writing and authoring
Effective team communication and collaboration
Visual instructional graphics, the user interface, and finished product
Learn new software and related skills
Capturing and monitoring project metrics
Forecasting project timelines
Detail oriented
Self-starter
Organized
Adaptable
Problem-solving
Mentorship and coaching
LEAN, Continuous Improvement, Previous experience in Professional Education and Development, Certification and/or Masters Degree in Instructional Design

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
