Role Summary/Purpose
The Account Manager will provide direction and assistance to work group in order to meet assigned objectives. In this role, you will work within defined parameters to make decisions, apply concepts to issues of moderate complexity, and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning. Customer facing staff responsible for winning business.
Essential Responsibilities
Provide for sales to assigned customers and prospects through the formulation and execution for strategies and plans that capitalize on the customer's strengths as supplemented by GE's products and services
Build customer relationships with the assigned customer for sales
Support the assigned customer in sales activities and provide assistance to the customer in identifying new opportunities
Coordinate activities and establish individual sales strategies obtaining appropriate approvals for pricing, and delivery
Negotiate contracts as required; maintain knowledge of market trends, competitive actions, product needs, and customer base
Work with Marketing to develop project specific sales strategies for assigned customers
Make recommendations for continued growth
Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Chemical, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, Biology or Chemistry or any related discipline (or a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in a technical sales position preferably in the water process/treatment industry)
Minimum of 3 years of experience in the water treatment field or related area, preferably in water treatment/process support operations or technical sales
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
Ability and willingness to travel within territory, as required
Ability and willingness to reside in assigned region, or within customer proximity requirements, as required
Work frequently in a heavy industrial environment requiring use of Personal Safety Equipment and exposure to noise, dust, chemicals and other similar irritants typical of those found in refinery, chemical plants, power plants, etc., as required
Ability and willingness to comply with stringent drug testing and background check requirements set by customer safety requirements, as required
Basic Computer Skills including MS Office, and other software programs within a Windows environment

Desired Characteristics
