Job Description
The primary responsibility of the Student Advisor is to serve as a direct link to the students in problem solving, academic issues, social issues, and to assist with financial aid processes with the goal to help the students remain in school and to be effective in communicating these actions with the Director of Finance and Academic Team.
Key Job Responsibilities
Assist with implementing the student retention plan and be accountable for achieving budgeted student retention goals.
Assist, as needed, with the student scheduling process by communicating with the Director of Finance and the Academic team.
Maintain effective personal communications with all students each term emphasizing connections with first term students and all members of the student body presenting a need for assistance.
Daily attendance monitoring and tracking outreach by using various ways of communication (media, email, and phone calls).
Assist students in obtaining information regarding childcare, healthcare, school transportation and other community resources.
Assist Director of Finance and Academic Dean with activities that will give a well-rounded experience to the students. (orientation, FAFSA renewals, etc)
Serve as an effective liaison between the students and the Finance and Academic departments:
reviewing attendance, change of schedules or failing grades resulting in Financial Aid Award letter changes, along with counseling on additional costs for any courses that student would need to retake.
Assist Admissions team in re-enter goals through the re-admissions process.
Assist with any student activities within the campus. Provide any Ideas for activities for students and provide results of participation. Be committed to all departments to help students be successful.
Perform Financial Aid processes such as creating updated award letters, FAFSA updates and answering stipend questions.
Maintain an attitude of enthusiasm and co-operation, demonstrate the ability to work well with others and the ability to self-direct and initiate ideas.
Participate in professional growth and development activities inspire the confidence of personnel in the company and the Education Department and in yourself.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor Degree required (BS)
Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office and other Windows applications.
Highly organized and detail-oriented, and consistently display the highest level of integrity.
Excellent customer service skills

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
