Network Administrator - Senior
Responsibilities:
Ensure operational reliability, maintainability, and availability of network elements/assets
Proactively monitor network elements/assets (including servers) to detect and identify network problems
Extend LAN cables as required by facility expansions and moves/changes
Maintain wiring closets (equipment rooms), including detailed diagrams, labeling of all cables and removing unused connectors
Manage call routing and voice mail
Manage trunk capacity for local, long distance, and lease network trunk lines
Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshooting:
Monitor voice system for abnormalities and potential problems
Troubleshoot issues as dictated to meet the applicable SLAs
Escalate problems to service providers
Accept service calls from internal and external organizations
Assume responsibility for problem resolution
Schedule maintenance windows
Knowledge and Skills
Local Area Network (LAN) management, including: routers, switches, hubs, etc.
TCP/IP, firewalls, routing, VLANs, general network troubleshooting
LAN wiring and equipment moves.
Metropolitan Area Network (MAN) circuit management
Routing protocols BGP, EIGRP and OSPF, Layer 2, and Cisco VSS, VSP.
Firewalls management and rule development
Voice communication management, including: Internal voice circuit wiring,Telephone number management, External trunk
management, Equipment moves, STE Bridge Support, STE phone support, Voicemail support, and E911 services
Avaya PBX and Automated Call Distribution (ACD)
Experience with the following technologies: VMware, Nutanix, Teradici, Forescout, Arcsight, Microsoft Sharepoint, Microsoft SQL Server,
.NET, Brocade, Cisco, Avaya, F5
REQUIREMENTS:
5 8 years of technical experience and a Bachelor of Arts/Science or equivalent degree in
computer science or related area of study; without a degree, two additional years of relevant
Professional experience (7-10 years in total).
Security
OR CompTIA Security
Certification and at least 1 current computing environment certification
Must have SECRET Clearance
