Information Specialist

LMI, a not-for-profit strategic consulting organization focused on the federal government, is seeking a Information Specialist.
This position is located in the National Capital Region.
With the threat of transnational terrorism and ongoing development of weapons of mass destruction (WMD) by nations potentially hostile to the US, DHS has taken steps to integrate the full range of its radiological/nuclear, chemical, and biological threat detection programs.
As the focal point for this effort, DHS Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction (CWMD) requires consulting and program management support that can reinforce and better enable a more dynamic and operationally-focused DHS strategy.
The person selected for this position will directly support CWMD's Data Integration.

This position will be located on a client site.
Finalists must be able to pass a DHS Suitability Check and Secret Clearance.
Responsibilities Assist with completing and maintaining documents in accordance with DHS IT security policies, procedures, and directives.
Support the development and maintenance of large- and small-scale operational and test-bed biosurveillance information technology systems that support (but are not limited to) the following:
Real-time biosurveillance operations and analysesModeling and simulation related to biosurveillance operations and analyseRisk and decision analysis application Development of advanced algorithms and technical approaches for biosurveillance.
Provide weekly progress report for each of the analytic and operational development projects consisting of:
High level summary statusProgress made in the last reporting period including key milestones metDeliverables completed along with schedule tracking, items to be completed in next reporting period, any associated risk, and plans to mitigate themAssist in review and provide recommendation to improve Information Technology (IT) Strategic roadmap for Information Analysis Division investments.
Maintain backlogs for each analytic development project.
Facilitate effective and efficient meeting including conference line setup (if needed), prepare room, prepare presentation slides, plan agenda, briefing, read-ahead material.
Provide Project Management Review (PMR) report and briefings.
Applie an enterprise-wide set of disciplines and processes for planning, analyzing, designing, constructing, and implementing information engineering for complex systems.
Develop analytical and computational techniques and methodology for problem solutions.
Perform process and data modeling in support of the systems planning and analysis efforts, using manual and automated tools.
Employ reverse engineering and reengineering disciplines to develop migration strategic and planning documents.
Qualifications Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degreeAbility to obtain high-level clearance and DHS suitability clearance4
years experience in management analysis, or Educational background in management analysisMust have an educational background or experience in areas such as business process reengineering, configuration management, quality control/assurance, organizational performance assessments, mission analysis, and strategic planning.
Qualifications:
Previous experience with CBRN/WMD-related intelligence preferred.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
