The UW School of Dentistry's (SoD) Department of Pediatric Dentistry, located at Magnuson Park, is the region's premiere authority on children's oral health.

The Director of Clinical Operations is responsible for the design, implementation and ongoing management of the operational strategy that supports the mission of the (CPD) and the SoD.
Working collaboratively with School of Dentistry leadership, department Chairs, department faculty and staff, the Director will establish the policies, processes, resources and systems to support the Department's patient care, education, and revenue goals.
Under the general supervision of the Associate Dean of Clinics, the CPD Director of Clinical Operations will provide leadership and management over all clinical functions and facilities that support the patient care process at the CPD, including centrally reporting support services (sterilization, dental maintenance, IT) for the Magnuson facility.
Leveraging an overall understanding of the patient care process, the Director will develop and foster an atmosphere of teamwork and shared responsibility.
This vital role builds upon the existing patient-centered culture at CPD.
DUTIES &
Responsibilities:
General Duties:
Lead the development and implementation of efficient processes and operational workflow across clinic areas and functions.
Work with Department Chairs and School leadership to support operational excellence for education and patient care.
Ensure overall compliance with federal, state, university and school standards.
Identify, establish and implement clinical and business process improvements to optimize clinical resources based on departmental goals and objectives.
Evaluate opportunities for distributed locations of central service functions to better standardize and improve efficiency.
Clinical Operations:
Provide direction and management oversight to all clinic areas and clinical staff.
Serve as primary point of contact for all physical plant needs associated with the Magnuson Park facility.
Review clinical activity to monitor and adjust staffing, scheduling, and other clinical functions to optimize workflow and efficiency.
Manage personnel matters for all assigned staff including training, performance goals and evaluation, mentoring, professional development, corrective actions, and compensation.
Maintain overall responsibility for ensuring that clinic areas and equipment are prepared, staffed, and available to provide patient care and educational support during all clinic hours.
Monitor revenues and expenditures on a monthly basis to identify variances and adjust as necessary to meet budget targets.
Assist in the development and lead the implementation of clinic policies and procedures that are consistent with school, university, state, and federal regulatory guidelines.
Ensure faculty, staff, and students comply with policies and procedures.
Lead effort to baseline clinical and patient process flows using existing data and input from faculty, staff and students.
Identify gaps or inefficiencies in processes and oversee efforts to design and implement a continuous improvement program.
Responsible for assuring staff receive training on changes/updates to clinic policies and procedures.
Compliance and Risk Management:
Integrate compliance policies into daily operations and guide full implementation within the department.
Ensure the clinic follows current HIPAA policies regarding Protected Health Information (PHI) related to IT systems, email, phone or other communications; proper protocols for handling, disposal or destruction of information and documents; all policies for completion of required training modules for faculty and staff.
Develop new employee orientation on health and personal safety as it relates to the workplace, and establish processes for delivery and re-training.
Interpret and integrate federal, state, UW, and other laws and policies relating to safeguarding of facilities Ensure compliance with fire and safety codes, which includes working closely with Environmental Health and Safety to ensure compliance with directed inventories of HAZMAT and other controlled laboratory chemicals or material.
Additional Duties:
Participate in internal and external audits as necessary.
Prepare clinics and assist with clinical documentation for periodic CODA accreditation and accreditation site visits.
Complete special projects as assigned by the Management.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS/
Qualifications:
BA/BS Degree in Business, HealthCare, Public Administration, or Education.
Minimum of Five (5) or more years' progressive experience managing clinic operations for patient care in a dental or other health care field preferably in a multi-practitioner practice.
An equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience may substitute for the degree requirement.
Operational expertise, including resource management, process improvement, project management and change management.
Five (5) years management level experience requiring independent decision-making, sound judgment, strong analytical problem solving, and the ability to multi-task with changing priorities.
Successful record of accomplishment for prioritizing, planning, organizing, and coordinating multiple projects and activities simultaneously.
Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with personnel at all levels.
Experience working independently and as part of a team.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio, Tableu, etc.
).

Experience:
Advanced Degree in Business, HealthCare, Public Administration, or Education.
Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Prior management experience in an academic-based or large dental clinic.
Familiarity with practice management software such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, and Axium Excellent customer service skills.
Supervisory experience in a workforce with a collective bargaining agreement.
Experience working with children and families, particularly those with special needs.
Ability to work under tight deadlines.
Experience with Workday software.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
