We are currently seeking an Employee and Labor Relations Specialist to support our Federal client, the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) located in Washington, DC.
This position is full time and onsite.
The successful candidate will provide Employee and Labor Relations support services for the Office of Human Resources Employee/Labor Relations branch in the following areas including, but not limited to:
Reviewing case materials to become familiar with questions under consideration.
Searching for and summarizing relevant articles in trade magazines, law reviews, published studies, financial reports, and similar materials for use of attorneys in the preparation of opinions, briefs, and other legal documents.
Preparing digests of selected decisions or opinions which incorporate references and analyses of precedents involved in areas of well-defined and settled points of law.
Using protocols and processes established by SEC personnel for interviews generally and for the particular matter interview, interviewing potential witnesses and preparing summary interview reports for the attorney's review.
Verifying citations and legal references on prepared legal documents.
Drafting and editing non-legal memoranda, research reports and correspondence relating to cases.
Developing and implementing records management program for filing, protection, and retrieval of legal records, and assure compliance with the program.
Must be knowledgeable of various controlling laws and regulations such at Title 5, US Code, and precedential decisions of the MSPB, Special Counsel, and applicable judicial rulings.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in federal employment law.
Outstanding writing ability, analytical skills and verbal communication skills.
Exceptional internal and external customer service abilities.
Bachelor's degree.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
