Orthopedics - RN Clinical Supervisor (Days 8:00am - 4:30pm)

The RN Clinical Supervisor assumes shift responsibility and accountability for the planning and provision of direct and indirect nursing care to our pediatric orthopaedic patients.
Coordinates multi-disciplinary team members, directs and facilitates nursing staff in obtaining safe, optimal health care outcomes.
Supports activities that meet Children's National Mission and Vision.
Provides professional leadership and support to the healthcare team.

Demonstrated experience in a charge nurse role in a comparable setting.
Minimum of one year recent pediatric experience in a comparable setting.
Minimum of 1 year of demonstrated nursing leadership experience.

Responsible for 24/7 assessment and supervision of clinical care and unit work flow.

Accountable for establishing collaborative relationships with all members of healthcare team.

Ensure patient throughput efforts are maintained by unit personnel.

Function as a resource in the delivery and documentation of clinical care.

Consistently evaluate care delivery incorporating patient satisfaction data to improve processes.
Develop Effective Communication Channels with staff and patients/families1.
Demonstrate advanced communication skills in dealing with staff, patient/family and all members of the healthcare team.

Provide constructive, sensitive and timely feedback to staff concerning their performance in verbal and written form.

Effectively manage conflict and assist others to understand their behavior and their effect on the work environment.

Communicate and escalate clinical issues as appropriate to Director and MUD.
Provide supervision for unit organization related to staff education and overall unit function1.

Responsible for upholding overall safety standards on the unit.
Demonstrate management and leadership skills1.
Accountable to plan for staffing 24/7; continuously monitor and adjust staffing based on unit needs.

Monitor Kronos reconciliation and ensure schedule and timecard accuracy.
3.
Responsible for all aspects of performance appraisal for staff.
4.
Participate in the hiring of staff by conducting interviews and making recommendations for hire.
5.
Assume coverage of unit in absence of Director and make decisions within authorized scope.
6.
Demonstrate initiatives and leadership through involvement in projects and committee.
7.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
