20-21 Arkansas Afterschool STEM Expansion VISTA

20-21 Arkansas Afterschool STEM Expansion VISTA Arkansas Out of School Network is embarking on exciting new work to expand the amount of STEM opportunities in afterschool programs.
High quality afterschool programs have shown to increase student academic performance, behavioral improvements and have been a factor in supporting regular school attendance.
The VISTA will work with a minimum of five (5) targeted communities that have received 21st Century Community Learning Center funding and other education stakeholders in five communities of Arkansas to assist in the development of partnerships and the identification of resources to support high quality STEM learning and engagement.
The position is based in Little Rock, AR.

Member Duties :
The VISTA will:
-Conduct a survey of STEM-related needs, identify models and engagement strategies related to STEM learning that can be replicated.
- Review progress with the project advisory committee and describe how low-income community members are involved in decision-making.
- Develop a database of afterschool and summer programs as a resource for parents.
- Attend quarterly convening of the AR STEM Coalition and the AR STEM Ecosystem and report on the progress of the programs.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
