Supervisory Public Affairs Specialist

You qualify for the GS-14 grade level if you possess one of the following:
Experience:
One (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or equivalent performing duties such as:
Preparing, coordinating and editing feature articles and publications that convey information to employees, the general public and specialized target groups relating to the organization's programs, objectives and mission; Developing and writing information material designed to reach local and/or national audiences through news media, radio, television, newspaper and internet; Responding to requests from various media sources; and Providing guidance, assistance and consultation to field offices concerning organizational procedures. Selective Placement Factor(s):
Selective placement factors are applied in the same manner as minimum qualification requirements. Relevant selective placement factor experience must be well documented in your resume. Failure to meet a selective placement factor will result in you not receiving further consideration. In addition to the minimum qualifications described above, you must meet the following selective placement factor(s):
Experience supervising a group of employees performing work at the GS-13 and GS-14 levels, (Serving as an intern will not satisfy this requirement) AND Experience in media relations as an agency or organizational spokesperson (Serving as an intern will not satisfy this requirement) OR Experience as a journalist or reporter for a commercial news organization (Serving as an intern will not satisfy this requirement) National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience):
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Current or Former Political Appointees:
The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees. Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
