Management Assistant

The major duties of the Management Assistant include, but are not limited to, the following:
-Assists in carrying out the responsibilities of the Secretary of the Interior and the National Park Service for stewardship of park Cultural Resource programs and management of the programs authorized under the National Historic Preservation Act by coordinating and developing policies, standards, and procedures for the identification and protection of cultural resources. -Assists in coordinating the development of guidance, direction and assistance to parks, regions; federal, state, tribal and local governments and to cooperating and non-profit organizations and institutions for the identification, documentation, preservation, study, development, use, and management of cultural resources. -Represents the National Park Service and the Cultural Resources Directorate on specific assignments supporting the nation's public and private preservation interests. -Incumbent is accountable to the Associate Director and the Chief of Staff for the quality and quantity of work produced and for insuring efficient and effective operations for assigned projects. All qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement-12/14/2020-unless otherwise stated in this vacancy announcement. Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. To receive credit for experience, your resume MUST clearly indicate the nature of the duties and responsibilities for each position, starting and ending dates of employment (month/year), and the resume must reflect either full-time or 40 hours per week. If a part-time work schedule is reflected, the hours must be annotated to ensure proper crediting of specialized experience. To qualify for this position at the GS-13 grade level, you must possess all of the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement:
Experience:
At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience includes all of the following activities:
Applies National Historic Preservation laws, their implementing regulations, Executive Orders, and Department of Interior and National Park Service policies, guidelines and procedures which are pertinent to the management and administration of Cultural Resource stewardship programs; successfully managed a project through completion related to the identification, evaluation, and treatment of cultural resources; and researched, developed, and presented responses to issues with significant policy implications, political sensitivity, and technical complexity to senior leadership or management. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
