Current federal employees applying for a promotion opportunity must meet time-in-grade (TIG) requirement of 52 weeks of service at the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the position being filled. For the GS-15 level:
One full-time year of specialized experience at the GS-14 level which demonstrates experience in 1) leading project teams through complex technical issues, utilizing standard project management methodology; 2) monitoring and managing project budgets; 3) experience in developing creative and innovative solutions to complex management issues which increase effectiveness and enhance customer service, involving others in the decision making process in order to lead cross functional teams; and 4)experience planning and directing the development of functional requirements for a wide variety of automated systems affecting the organization. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
