Supervisory Loan Specialist (Agricultural)

Applicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date of the announcement 12/14/2020 including time-in-grade restrictions, specialized experience and/or education, as defined. Time in grade:
Current federal employees applying for a promotion opportunity must meet time-in-grade (TIG) requirement of 52 weeks of service at the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the position being filled. For the GS- 13 level:
One full-time year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level which demonstrates competence in agricultural loans; reviewing and passing upon applications for a wide and complex variety of agricultural operations or enterprises (i.e., single owner, partnerships, and corporations, etc.); servicing an agricultural loan portfolio of a bank or other loan association; or similar work. Experience that demonstrates broad and seasoned judgment in providing financial management guidance to agricultural borrowers; ascertaining and analyzing the many and often obscure facts regarding the borrower's financial capacity and evaluating the general economic and financial conditions that affect the organization/governments risk in granting, guaranteeing, or insuring the loan. In addition, experience that demonstrates a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the technicalities of farm financing and credit; farm operations, land use and value; production of various crops and livestock, and prices and markets in the farming area where loans are made and serviced. For the GS- 14 level:
One full-time year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level which demonstrates expert knowledge and experience recommending operating policies and plans, conducting farm loan program evaluations, developing and/or analyzing position papers and decision memoranda, training field personnel, reviewing and responding to complex loan making issues. Experience demonstrates a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the technicalities of farm financing and credit and demonstrates the ability to direct, assign, and review the work of a staff. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
