Director of Operations - Behavioral Health Outpatient Clinic.
Under the direction of the Assistant Vice President for Behavioral Health, the Director of Operations is responsible for the management of the Medstar Washington Hospital Center Behavioral Health Outpatient Clinic.
This person will manage the day to day operations of a busy behavioral health hospital-based practice.
Duties include business planning, program development, facility management, and staff supervision.
The position is central to the Behavioral Health Service line and is integrated into the MedStar Washington Hospital Center Ambulatory Leadership team.
DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Interviews, hires, and evaluates staff performance and ensures staff development.
Manages day to day operations of all Outpatient Behavioral Health Clinic, including scheduling and clinical programming.
Responsible for fiscal planning, budgets and expense management.
Ensures patient registration is in compliance with all Hospital and Medicare/Medicaid regulations/policies as well as all applicable federal and local laws.
Responsible for outpatient policies and procedures, development and education.
Responsible for revenue cycle management.
Either directly or by designee, ensures that all patient procedure(s)/diagnosis coding and billing is done in accordance with all applicable policies and procedures and the Hospital, Medicare/Medicaid, and third-party payors.
Works with the billing entities to ensure all necessary information is submitted in a timely manner by the practice staff for complete/accurate billing.
Community outreach to external sources including patients, physicians, managed care companies and other agencies and institutions, with focus on increasing awareness and utilization of services.
If this director is licensed in the field, then some clinical care may be provided.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements/QualificationsMaster's degree in Business Administration, Health Services Administration or directly related discipline is required.
Candidates should have a minimum of three years of experience in hospital administration or management of a large business operation which would indicate the ability to perform the position.
Must be flexible to adjust to the needs of a fast paced environment, demonstrate effective problem solving skills, and display proficient oral/written communication skills.
Previous adult behavioral health experience is preferred.
Prior management and supervisory experience is required.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
