We are currently seeking a Technical Security Specialist to join our team in Washington, District of Columbia (US-DC), United States (US).

  • Attend or receive IC level briefings pertaining to technical vulnerabilities. Mitigation strategies are based on reducing the technical risk based on the identified vulnerabilities.
  • Write white papers based on independent research of identified technical systems, solutions, or devices proposed for use or installation in client facilities.
  • Articulate in writing and verbally their analysis and communicate the findings in both technical and simplified formats based on the audience.
  • Identify and articulate technical risks based on review of technical system devices, components or solutions proposed.
  • Define mitigation strategies for differing technologies to reduce the technical risk at client's locations.
  • Provide specialized guidance related to Access Control, Intrusion detection systems, CCTV and defensive lock systems.
  • Perform Physical Security inspections at varying stages of construction.
  • Interpret blueprint construction drawings. Contractor shall review and understand construction drawings to ensure proposed construction methods are in accordance with SecD and lCD 705 requirements.
  • Prepare detailed and precise security survey reports.
  • Edit, provide input and ensure correctness into the creation or editing of needed security policies and construction standards.
  • Conduct and develop comprehensive risk profiles across all dimensions of a facilities construction project located in the U.S and U.S territories.
  • Other duties as assigned

Required
Qualifications:

  • Minimum eight (8) years of professional experience with five (5) years of technical security experience
  • Two (2) years experience with Radio Frequency (RF) parameters to include:
    • Basic RF signal identification. As an example:
      WiFi, BlueTooth (BT), Zigbee, cellular
    • RF signal radio patterns and power levels
    • RF Shielding vs emanations
  • Two (2) years experience with physical security systems and emerging technologies related to access control, alarms, CCTV (closed circuit television)
    Two (2) years experience reading and interpreting architectural, blueprint and structural floor plans with knowledge of secure area and SCIF requirements, both physical and technical
  • Advanced technical based engineering degree or equivalent documented work experience
  • Active Top Secret Clearance AND SCI capable.
  • Travel between DC and Redstone (Alabama) Travel not expected to exceed 25%

Experience:

  • Knowledge of government standards for the protection of national security information from a physical and technical perspective. As an example:
  • ICD 705 SCIF standards and specifications
  • CNSSI 5000 VoIP Telephony standard
  • CNSSP 17 Policy on Wireless Systems
  • CNSSI 7003 Instruction for Protected Distribution Systems
  • CNSSAM TEMPEST/1-13 Red/Black Installation Guidance
  • Emergent national policies and directives
  • In depth knowledge of RF parameters to include analysis and identification of RF signals
  • Cyber / network experience
  • Familiarity with physical security systems and emerging technologies should include awareness of biometrics (ie:
    facial recognition, hand geometry, etc)
  • Prior military or work experience with the client, plus
  • Knowledge of optical transmissions
  • Knowledge of Intelligence Community Best Practices Guide for Architectural Shielding
  • Construction Surveillance Technical training/experience
  • Technical Surveillance Countermeasures training or experience
  • Working knowledge of Interagency Security Committee standards, which establishes a baseline set of physical security measures to be applied to all federal facilities

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
