Duties Help Duties Summary This position is located in Financial Policy and Planning, Internal Controls Division, in Washington DC The work includes performing audit follow-up activities on audits conducted by the Office of Inspector General or other independent public accounting firms, and selected internal audits sanctioned by OCFO leadership or Division Director.

Performs all requirements needed to complete segments of financial, operational or performance audits.
Develops audit guidelines, work progress reports, draft audit reports, and audit summaries.
Interpret and provide regulatory guidance to customers, document audit findings and provide recommendations for improvement and compliance.
Monitors component agency and staff office Government Accountability Office (GAO) and Single Audit activities.
Recommends corrective actions such as modifying management systems, financial and accounting systems, workflow, lines of authority, and other collective actions.

Qualifications Applicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date of the announcement including time-in-grade restrictions, specialized experience and/or education, as defined below.
Time-in-Grade Requirements:
Merit promotion applicants holding or having held a GS position in the past 52 weeks must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements.
One year at the GS-11 is required to be eligible for the GS-12.
Time-in-Grade requirements must be met by the closing date of the announcement.
Applicants MUST submit an SF-50 that illustrates time-in-grade and reflects title, series, and grade.
No Award SF-50 will be accepted.
Basic Requirements:
This position has a positive education requirement.
Applicants MUST meet one of the educational requirements below for the 0511 occupational series.
Transcripts are required at the time of application.
Degree:
accounting, auditing; or a degree including auditing courses in a related field such as business administration, finance, or public administration that included or was supplemented by 24 semester hours in accounting.
The 24 hours may include up to 6 hours of credit in business law OR Combination of education and
Experience:
at least 4 years of experience in accounting, or an equivalent combination of accounting experience, college-level education, and training that provided professional accounting knowledge.
The applicants background must also include one of the following:
1.
Twenty-four semester hours in accounting or auditing courses of appropriate type and quality.
This can include up to 6 hours of business law; 2.
A certificate as Certified Public Accountant or a Certified Internal Auditor, obtained through written examination; or 3.
Completion of the requirements for a degree that included substantial course work in accounting or auditing, eg, 15 semester hours, but that does not fully satisfy the 24-semester-hour requirement of paragraph A, provided that (a) the applicant has successfully worked at the full-performance level in accounting, auditing, or a related field, eg, valuation engineering or financial institution examining; (b) a panel of at least two higher level professional accountants or auditors has determined that the applicant has demonstrated a good knowledge of accounting and of related and underlying fields that equals in breadth, depth, currency, and level of advancement that which is normally associated with successful completion of the 4-year course of study described in paragraph A; and (c) except for literal non-conformance to the requirement of 24 semester hours in accounting, the applicants education, training, and experience fully meet the specified requirements.
In addition to the basic requirements above, applicants must meet the specialized experience below.
Specialized
Experience:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in Federal Service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties; Must have expert knowledge of NFC applications.
Experience delivering group instruction and training covering technical, operational, and/or management areas.
Experience developing instructional materials, including training/course manuals, and presentations, etc.
, and evaluation of training results.
Experience developing curriculum outlines, courses of study lesson plans/guides, and conducting training workshops.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (eg, Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (eg, professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).
Volunteer work helps build critical competencies and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education Education cannot be substituted for experience at the GS-12 level.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
