Duties Help Duties Summary This Direct Hire position is located in the Office of Safety, Health, and Environmental Management.
The incumbent will provide the full spectrum of occupational health nursing care, comprehensive disease prevention and health promotion services to employees.

Learn more about this agency Responsibilities Provide specialized vaccines and medications, health and safety education for occupational hazards including international travel, OSHA regulated programs, respiratory protection, hearing conservation, and wellness.
Provide guidance, support and Occupational Health Program knowledge to employees, supervisors and management to prevent illness and injury.
Provide triage, first aid, and Occupational illness and injury care to staff such as periodic medical screening, prescribed treatments.
Update the Occupational Health Program using Microsoft Office and Electronic Health Record systems.
Use/ gain certification on spirometry, audiometry, laboratory testing equipment and other specialized equipment required for clinical function.
Travel Required Occasional travel - Travel will be less than 25% of the time.

Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 level in the Federal service or comparable pay band system related to the work of this position.
For this position specialized experience is defined as implementing and executing the requirement of an occupational or public health program such as tracking medical surveillance, preemployment physicals or Federal Workers Compensation Medical Case Management; COVID-19 contact investigation experience, responding to medical emergencies, first aid care, issuing travel vaccines and travel medicine; planning and implementing large scale vaccine clinics (greater than 30 vaccines per hour); and using an electronic medical record such as CORITY.
Part-time and/or unpaid experience related to the duties this position will be considered to determine the total number of years and months of experience.

Education You must meet these Basic Education Requirements:

A graduate or higher level degree, bachelor's degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program is required.
This education must have been accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (external link), Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs (external link), Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education (external link), or an accrediting body recognized by the US Department of Education (external link) at the time the degree was obtained.
Degree from Foreign Nursing School:
Official certification from the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools (external link) is required for individuals who graduated from foreign nursing schools.
Advanced Practice Nurse Positions:
For Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) positions, applicants must possess a graduate or higher level degree in nursing from an accredited educational program in the area of expertise or specialty indicated by the position.
Areas of specialties for positions include, but are not limited to, Acute Care, Anesthesia, Community Health, Family, Geriatric, Home Health, Midwifery, Neonatal, Oncology, Pediatric, Psychiatric, Allergy and Immunology, Women's Health, Cardiovascular, Dermatology, Occupational Health, Orthopedic, Respiratory, or other specialties identified for the position.
Licensure For all grade levels and positions, applicants must have passed the National Council Licensure Examination (external link).
In addition, they must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
Additional License Requirements for Advanced Practice Nurse Positions:
Applicants for Advanced Practice Nurse positions must be licensed or registered by a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States in the clinical specialty required by the position.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
