The OpportunityBuild advocacy capacity and engagement opportunities to advance policy priorities and advocacy programs that empower the people we serve.
Work with food bank network members, the people we serve, and the public through our digital advocacy programs.
Use a wide range of skills to support Feeding America's advocacy program including coordinating the network and external advocacy communications efforts to help advance a policy agenda that increases both private and government food and funds for members, leads to federal regulations and laws that support reducing domestic hunger and positions Feeding America as the leading authority on hunger and hunger-related issues.
Salary Range:
$57,500 to $72,000

Responsibilities:
Contributes to the implementation of advocacy strategies to advance Feeding America's public policy agenda and increase engagement of advocates.
Oversees timely and effective communications to network members about key legislative and policy issues and actions, through the weekly GR update, monthly GR webinars, maintaining the GR team's intranet site, and other communication needs - with support from advocacy team members and other GR staff.
Oversees the tracking of data around Feeding America's network member advocacy legislative engagement and capacity efforts and ensures data - including contact data and advocacy tracking data - is up-to-date using databases including Quorum and Salesforce.
Oversees government relations content on and other digital advocacy channels, in collaboration with the digital marketing and IT teams respectively.
Oversees the advocacy-related session development, content, and coordination of sessions needed for major conferences such as the Anti-Hunger Policy Conference (AHPC).
Oversees organization and posting of advocacy and policy content on , the organization's intranet, and other digital advocacy channels, in collaboration with the digital marketing and IT teams respectively.
Collaborates in the development of advocacy resources and toolkits for network members and digital advocates, provides advocacy technical assistance and support for network members, writes memos and reports on advocacy engagement trends across network.
Collaborates with appropriate internal stakeholders enterprise-wide to ensure policy positions and initiatives are integrated into cross-programmatic strategies and projects.
Provides counsel to VP of Advocacy and Director of Advocacy & External Affairs on digital advocacy strategies and learnings to help improve the program.
Travel:
Minimum - a few trips annually.

Required Technical Competencies, Experience & CertificationsThree plus years' experience in issue advocacy, grassroots mobilization, external affairs or issue campaigns required.
Strong writing skills are required.
Experience with CRMs (particularly EveryAction, Salesforce, Quorum), using social media platforms for advocacy engagement essential.
Bilingual in Spanish preferred.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
