This position reports to the Office of the Treasurer (T), through the Department of Media Production (TMP).
The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a technical expert in all Gallery wide AV operations and workflows.
This includes a variety of audio-visual support services related to building infrastructure, live events, exhibitions and Time-Based Media Art (TBMA) acquisitions and collection management.
The incumbent serves as the installation technician in exhibition related audio video components including accessioned and borrowed time-based media art (TBMA).
The incumbent coordinates the planning, installation and maintenance of TBMA exhibitions with the Head of TMP, Dept of Exhibitions and the Time-Based Media Art Working Group.
Incumbent operates equipment during events, public or private.
Performs operator/production duties and must be able to set up and operate all types of recording and audiovisual equipment including video cameras and video recorders, film and slide projectors, audio recorders, tape and disc players, and sound systems.

Qualifications Applicants must have a minimum of one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility comparable to the next lower grade or comparable pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector.
Specialized Experience Statement:
For this position, candidates must possess at least one year of specialized experience, equivalent in responsibility to the GS-9 level in the Federal service, serving as a technical expert in AV operations and workflows.
This includes a variety of audio-visual support services related to building infrastructure, live events, exhibitions and Time-Based Media Art (TBMA) acquisitions and collection management.
Other Relevant Eligibility Criteria:
Must have experience and certification in leading AV technologies such as:
CTI certifications Crestron, AMX control systems Digital audio technologies (Audianet, BiAmp, QSC, Dante, CobraNet, BSS) Digital Projection certifications (Christie, Barco) AV over IP technologies such as NDI Candidates must reflect in their submitted USAJOBS resume the possession of this specialized experience.

Knowledge of and wide-ranging technical expertise in the audiovisual field, including related skills in acoustics, television, communications, theatre design, motion picture industry, radio broadcast production, recording engineering, and the electrical and electronics fields.

knowledge of and ability to use a wide variety of software and networking tools available to manage and program audio-visual equipment.
