Due to the Pandemic, and individual states with different phases of reopening, the selectee's report date to the official duty station/facility may be delayed until such time as employees are allowed to report to the workplace.
The person selected may telework up to the maximum extent possible, up to and including full time, until it is safe to relocate.
ResponsibilitiesActs as a principal technical specialist for developing new concepts, approaches, techniques, and processes for conducting site assessments for NAS equipment in support of Information System Continuous Monitoring.
Provides policy guidance and instructions on the Information System Continuous Monitoring principles, and in leading, coordinating and communicating requirements with key stakeholders in ATO District Offices, Second Level Engineering, FAA Service Providers, Program Offices and others as required.
Conducts Security Assessments as the FAA Information Security Group representative coordinating, communicating and conducting security assessments for ATO Systems and sites.
He/she is responsible for testing, reviewing test data, identifying vulnerabilities and formulating the Security Assessment Report.
Applies experience and comprehensive knowledge of engineering principles, theories, and concepts relating to engineering adaptability, engineering methods of construction and processing, as applicable to his/her discipline to accomplish assignments and to develop plans and techniques to improve programs and policies.
Understands new technologies and methodologies, to solve complex problems and to develop improved technical processes for the organization, and considers the objectives of the major subdivision and LOB/SO when developing, integrating, and implementing solutions to diverse, complex problems.
Typical assignments may include:
system design and integration; extensive research; and direct responsibility for project/program management.
Applies knowledge of the National Institutes of Standards Guidance, and Standards; Office of Management and Budget Memoranda, and Circulars; US DOT, FAA and Air Traffic Organization Policies for incorporation into the Air Traffic Organization Information System Continuous Monitoring Plan and Program.
Defines, organizes, and assigns resources to accomplish organizational objectives.
Allocates resources to accomplish large work activities within established schedules.
Plans and accomplishes highly complex engineering projects in a manner that is consistent with the strategic objectives of resiliency initiatives.
Leads initiatives in support of the development of a risk framework that improves analysis of mission requirements, gaps, and needed capabilities to support the Group.
Provides timely responses to information requests from both internal ATO stakeholders and external stakeholders, both internal and external to the agency.
Ensures the information provided is accurate and complete.
Assures successful implementation and functionality of security requirements and appropriate IT policies and procedures ensure they are consistent with organizational mission and goals.
Contacts are internal and external.
Often represents FAA as a senior technical point of contact on projects, programs and other work activities.
Communicates results to all levels internally (within an LOB/SO or across LOB's/SO's) and externally.
Evaluates the security posture of each system under his/her purview and provides input and recommendations regarding the extent in which the systems meet the ATO Tailored NIST 800-53 requirements.
Continually updates security posture information with discovery of new vulnerabilities or remediation of previously identified risks.
Provides guidance to lower-level staff to solve difficult technical issues.
Resolves all but unique technical problems without the intervention of management.
Works to jointly solve problems.
Works to review rarely, typically through status reports and at project completion, to ensure technical compliance and alignment with the requirements of the project or other work activity.

QualificationsDegree:
Engineering.
To be acceptable, the program must:
(1) lead to a bachelor's degree in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by ABET; or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics:
(a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics.
OR Combination of education and experience -- college-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished (1) a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying engineering, and (2) a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the engineering sciences and techniques and their applications to one of the branches of engineering.
The adequacy of such background must be demonstrated by one of the following:
1.
Professional registration or licensure -- Current registration as an Engineer Intern(EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.
2.
Written Test -- Evidence of having successfully passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination or any written test required for professional registration by an engineering licensure board in the various states, the District of Columbia, Guam, and Puerto Rico.
3.
Specified academic courses -- Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and that included the courses specified in the basic requirements.
4.
Related curriculum -- Successful completion of a curriculum leading to a bachelor's degree in an appropriate scientific field, eg, engineering technology, physics, chemistry, architecture, computer science, mathematics, hydrology, or geology, may be accepted in lieu of a bachelor's degree in engineering, provided the applicant has had at least one (1) year of professional engineering experience acquired under professional engineering supervision and guidance.

You must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-I, FG/GS-13.
Specialized experience analyzing the security posture of each engineering system and recommending solutions to improve processes/systems.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
