Duties Help Duties Summary This position is located in the Forest Service Office of International Programs' Disaster Assistance Support Program (DASP).
Serves as a program specialist, advising on technical matters, and development of workforce standards, training, education, and quality assurance and process improvement for international disaster response and civil humanitarian assistance.

gov Learn more about this agency Responsibilities Serves as an organizational program specialist and project manager for a variety of projects and workgroups related to US Agency for International Development, Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance (USAID/BHA).
Assists in the development of manuals, guides, job aides and technology solutions to promote USAID/BHAs effectiveness, efficiency, and readiness for disaster response.
Evaluates and incorporates new additions and changes to these products.
Serves as an organizational program specialist and project manager for a variety of projects and workgroups related to US Agency for International Development, Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance (USAID/BHA).
Develop plans, standards, and procedures designed to mitigate and/or manage international disasters; and/or directs operational use of diverse resources and staffing solutions to achieve strategic goals and objectives.
Coordinates and maintains resources in support of USAID/BHA?s ability to successfully implement humanitarian response programs and operations, including surge/detail staffing, equipment, and response operations centers.
Provides expert and well-informed advice on the most effective, timely disaster response staffing solutions.
Travel Required Occasional travel - Domestic and international travel to support disaster and humanitarian response efforts, attend or conduct meetings, training, conferences, or to conduct site visits.

Selective Placement Factor:
Experience in using the US Agency for International Development's Response Management System, the National Incident Management System, the Incident Command System, and/or the Multi-Agency Coordination Systems to achieve positive humanitarian outcomes in civilian international disaster response.
Specialized Experience Requirement:
For the GS-12:
You must have one year specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 in the Federal service.
Specialized experience is defined as a majority of the following:
having operational or programmatic experience leading team(s), function(s) and/or programmatic initiatives within a complex international disaster management system ie the US Agency for International Developments Response Management System, the Incident Command System, and/or the National Incident Management System for International Disaster Civil Humanitarian Program.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (eg, Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (eg, professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).
Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
TIME IN GRADE REQUIREMENT:
If you are a current federal employee in the General Schedule (GS) pay plan and applying for a promotion opportunity, you must meet time-in-grade (TIG) requirements of 52 weeks of service at the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the position being filled.
This requirement must be met by the closing date of this announcement.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
