Begin a challenging and exciting internship with the Executive Office of the President (EOP) providing support to the President of the United States. The EOP is comprised of The White House, Executive Residence, Office of the Vice President, Office of the United States Trade Representatives, Office of Science and Technology Policy, Office of the National Drug Control Policy, Office of Management and Budget, Office of Administration, National Security Staff, Council on Environmental Quality, and Council of Economic Advisers. The EOP has responsibility for tasks ranging from communicating the President's message to the American people to promoting our trade interests abroad. The Office of Administration is currently seeking enthusiastic and dedicated students to serve as unpaid student interns to assist in the performance of its mission of providing support services for the President. OA views student interns as the future of the Federal workforce. The Office of Administration Student Internship Program provides the opportunity to gain valuable professional experience and build leadership skills. Participants in the program will be exposed to the Federal work environment and will learn about the mission of the Office of Administration and its role and responsibility to the Executive Office of the President.Students selected for this program will have an opportunity to contribute to library and information services enhancements for EOP staff.
Spring 2015 internship positions are available within the Office of Administration with an anticipated begin date of Monday, January 12, 2015 and an end date of Friday, May 8, 2015.The interns are expected to work at least 15-20 hours per week. Interns may be asked to work 40 hrs. per week.
Notice: More than one selection will be made within 90 days of the issuance of the certificate, if additional vacancies occur.
Must be a US citizen or national. Registered with the Selective Service, if a male born after Dec. 1, 1959. Must be in good academic standing. Subject to pre-employment and random drug tests. RELOCATION EXPENSES WILL NOT BE PAID. Enrolled or accepted for enrollment as a degree seeking student.
LRS interns will work with professional LRS staff on a variety of projects such as collection analysis, development and management; intranet site maintenance and enhancements; digitizing print collections and providing metadata for access; e-book platform analysis and planning; and creating education/training/newsletter content for internal use.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS : All applicants applying to participate in the Unpaid Student Internship Program must meet the following requirements:
1. Be a US Citizen.
2. At least 18 years of age.
3. Enrolled or accepted for enrollment as a degree-seeking student for the semester that includes or immediately follows the internship, taking at least a half-time academic course load in an accredited program.
4. Be in good academic standings.
You will be rated based on your qualifications for this position as evidenced by the education, experience and training you report relative to this position which shows that you possess the knowledge, skills and abilities required. Paid or unpaid experience will be considered.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
