Description:
East Potomac Tennis Center (EPTC), 2013 USTA Mid-Atlantic Facility of the Year award winner, is public tennis facility located in central Washington, DC at beautiful Hains Point. EPTC offers 24 courts (clay, hard, indoor, and outdoor), adult and junior lessons, league play, and variety of special programs and social events tailored to fit patrons' needs year-round.
EPTC is searching for a highly self-motivated, entrepreneurial, and experienced full-time Junior Tennis Director/Tennis Pro to create and oversee all aspects of EPTC's junior programs. This position also will be responsible for overseeing other EPTC programs, and conducting a variety of daily lessons and other tasks that are described further below.
KEY DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
General Teaching and Other Programming Responsibilities
In addition to junior programming responsibilities described below, successful candidates will be required to conduct at least 35 hours per week of on-court instruction for patrons of all ages. As part of the 35 hours, at least one weekend day per week, including holidays, may be required. (Due to the visibility and importance of this position to EPTC's success, prime-time court hours and priority scheduling will be granted.) The Junior Tennis Director/Tennis Pro also will be required to run the adult Early Bird program on a weekly basis, and assist with other events, tournaments, and programs, as needed. Finally, candidates may be asked to perform some administrative tasks and front-desk coverage as needed by EPTC management.
Junior Programming Responsibility
About 10-20 hours per week of the successful candidate's time will be devoted to developing a variety of junior programs and ensuring maximum participation from new and existing customers. Specifically, successful candidates will be required to complete the following:
Schedule and Execute Junior Programs: Develop a calendar/schedule of at least 10 junior programs and events per year. Events should be applicable to children ages 5 to 18 and focus on various instructional, social, and competitive tennis aspects for different genders and skill levels. Such programs may include competitive training center, junior camps, lessons, leagues, USTA sanctioned tournaments, inter- and intra-club events, charity functions, and community-based events. Candidates must be able to plan, promote, and execute these events at a level that exceeds customer expectations.
Create Marketing Materials: Develop marketing materials including newsletters, flyers, emails, and website announcements to promote all junior activities.
Program Management: Develop, hire, and train other tennis pros for junior programs and events, as needed. Successful candidates will need to prepare employee scheduling and evaluations per company policy. Candidates also will be required to develop budgets in conjunction with EPTC management, and oversee daily, weekly, monthly, and annual income and expense reports.
Feedback and Evaluation: Develop a feedback/evaluation system for students (and/or parents, as appropriate) to provide input into the programs/classes at the mid-point and conclusion of each session. Candidates must also develop a reporting system of program results to keep EPTC management and corporate executives informed of progress/revenue.
Exceptional Customer Relations and Service
As with any service-industry position, EPTC employees are required to provide exceptional customer service to patrons at all times. In particular, lessons and programs should start and end on time and changes in schedules should be communicated promptly (via email and/or phone) to impacted customers.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
At a minimum, successful candidates should possess the following experience, skills, and attributes:
Solid tennis background--5.0 or above level player.
At least 3 years coaching knowledge and experience, including experience developing and implementing junior tennis programs.
Certification from USPTA and/or PTR.
Ability to analyze and solve problems in a timely and efficient manner.
Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, including use of email and Microsoft Office software (Word and Excel).
Ability to work well with and motivate individuals and groups.
Self-starter with high energy and enthusiasm about the game of tennis.
High ethical standards.
Strong customer service skills.
Ability to lift 50-75lbs and stand/conduct lessons for 6 or more consecutive hours at a time
Experience with Tournament Data Manager (TDM),TennisLink and bilingual speaking is a plus.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
