The mission of the Office of Resource Management and Planning is to provide the leadership and centralized management and direction for the Office of Management's planning, budgeting, training, financial, human resources, and program execution processes, and to ensure that these processes are effective, and fully integrated and consistent with the Department-wide processes and requirements.
A successful candidate in this position will be responsible for performing a broad range of administrative and management support activities to accomplish overall program objectives. As a Administrative Support Specialist, you will:
Be responsible for the day-to-day administrative activities for the Office of Resource Management and Planning;
Perform a variety of complex studies and projects as assigned or self-initiated;
Review organizational changes proposed by management to determine the impact of new or revised structures in terms of operational efficiency, resource utilization, and their extensive relationships to other organizational components;
Plan and/or accomplish special studies and/or perform special assignments for the supervisor or higher authority, which may crosscut functional lines of authority;
Provide advice and technical assistance to management officials concerning complex, sensitive personnel and position actions;
Plan and/or support committees, boards, symposia, or conferences;
Research and/or analyze problems, issues, or administrative requirements;
Perform management reviews to assist senior management analysts in drafting or writing administrative documents such as position descriptions or memorandums; assist in the review of proposed position descriptions for proper format, adequacy of content, and conformation with position classification guidelines;
Serve as a travel administrator in developing and monitoring travel related activities for the organization; and
Perform other related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:

A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level in the Federal service.
At the GS-11 : You must meet the requirements of the position based on education, specialized experience or a combination of both.
Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree _or_3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree _or_LL.M., if related

Specialized
Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-9 level. Specialized experience is defined as:
1. Conducting studies and analyses of a wide variety of administrative, planning, and program processes; and
2. Providing advice and assistance to management officials concerning personnel and position actions
In addition to meeting the specialized experience requirements listed above for the GS-11, GS-12 candidates must also have experience advising managers and supervisors on requirements and procedures related human resources management and training and career development plans.

1. Knowledge and skill in applying analytical and evaluative methods and techniques to issues or studies concerning the efficiency and effectiveness of program operations carried out by the administrative or professional personnel, or substantive administrative support functions (i.e., internal activities or functions such as supply, budget, procurement or personnel which serve to facilitate line or program operations).
2. Knowledge of Federal personnel policies, regulations, and practices to administer human resource activities including development of position descriptions through all grade levels, preparation of recruitment requests/data.
3. Knowledge of automated data processing techniques and data base management applications to collect, maintain, and update spreadsheets and to develop management reports.
4. Ability to collect, assemble, correlate, and analyze operational data and to make recommendations concerning work methods, procedures, and work tasks

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
