Job Description
The Sr. Progressive Policy Analyst will assist with the department's outreach to progressives in Congress and the wider policy community. Reports to Assistant Director of Policy and Government Affairs/Director of Strategic Engagement and works under the general supervision of Deputy Director and Policy and Government Affairs Director(s).

Detailed Duties:
Develop and write reports and other research products relevant to AIPAC's legislative and policy agenda.
Co-Author, author, edit and proofread accessible policy briefs, analyses, fact sheets and other materials.
Attend and report on Congressional hearings, press conferences, think tank and public forum discussions, etc.
Assist with planning and implementation of public events as well as conventions, conferences, meetings and other special events.
Conduct research, compile requested information, maintain subject issue files, and draft related papers, memos, etc.
Assist in the formulation of legislative strategy and in other specific policy formation processes.
Draft and distribute written materials such as action alerts, policy reports, analyses, fact sheets and other materials including those distributed internally to staff as well as to AIPAC membership.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred
Professional Staff experience on Capitol Hill, Government Agency or Think Tank preferred
Experience in Democratic or Progressive policy or politics
Strong ability to formulate policy recommendations
Knowledge of Israel and Middle East
Passion for a strong U.S.- Israel relationship
Strategic thinker with the ability to initiate and engage in creative approaches toward advancing policy
Ability to initiate projects and balance multiple projects at once
Ability to conduct research on related policies and programs; synthesize and analyze findings appropriate for policy makers
Flexibility and willingness to take on a wide range of tasks based on new and changing needs and environment, including administrative and logistical tasks
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, including good follow-through, effective time management, and strong campaign planning and goal setting skills
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to deal with people with sensitivity, tact, and professionalism
