The Role The National Hispanic Medical Association is looking to hire a Communications Coordinatorto support a variety of internal and external communications activities, with an emphasis on implementing successful multi-channel (social, web, digital, email, etc.
) campaigns and strategies that amplify organizational objectives, including that of our foundation (The National Hispanic Health Foundation).
The Communications Coordinator will further craft and edit high-quality communications, produce compelling marketing collateral, and work to strategically build engagement with NHMA's membership, programs, and events.
Self-motivation, flexibility, attention to detail, and the ability to successfully handle multiple projects are essential to this position.
Reporting to the Communications Manager, this role is responsible for supporting duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Responsibilities and Duties ? Support the planning and execution of comprehensive communications campaigns ? Draft, edit, and finalize press releases, speeches, talking points, slide decks, fact sheets, toolkits, webpages, interdepartmental memos, and other business correspondence ? Plan and produce digital (social media, email, website) and print (flyers, mailers, postcards, t-shirts) assets ? Support news media planning, relations, and monitoring/tracking ? Monitor NHMA's digital channels for QA (quality assurance), support engagement with stakeholders/partners ? Compile research regarding public health initiatives/programs/events etc.
? Evaluate public health data to inform timely, culturally-competent messaging ? Conduct audience and demographic research to inform communications strategies ? Maintain and update NHMA websites in WordPress and MemberClicks with timely developments/information ? Support managing and professionally developing interns Minimum Qualifications and Experience ? Bachelor's degree, 1-3 years of professional communications experience ? Excellent written and verbal communications skills, including copy editing ? Strong writing, copywriting, and copy-editing skills ? Detail-oriented with excellent time management and organizational skills ? Strong background and interest in research, ability to evaluate and synthesize data and research findings ? Detail-oriented with excellent time management and organizational skills ? Proficient in graphic design (Canva, Adobe, etc.
) ? Experience with G-Suite preferred ? Ability to work in the D.
