Job Description This position will be assigned to a state government client on a fast-paced effort aimed at creating materials and outreach tools for marginalized communities.
Materials are created in 12 different languages and multiple formats, and designed to be accessible across the targeted communities, including populations with low-literacy.
This role partners with the content development team to execute the client's creative vision and maintain an efficient, robust production cycle.
The team at WCS includes a Chief Content Strategist who helps direct writers, web developers and graphic designers, as well as a Project Manager.
The state has dozens of community-based organizations that have received grants to disseminate the materials and to provide input on materials needed.
Key Duties In collaboration with the Chief Content Strategist, oversee and track the production cycle of all materials from conceptualization to client delivery, including developing production schedules, anticipating potential schedule conflicts, tracking timelines, following up with assigned staff/team members, communication with the client, etc.
Manage production cycle and all communication with the WCS content team and external vendors, including distribution of assignments, coordinating with writers, working with designers to develop products and make edits, ensuring ADA accessibility in print products and 508 compliance for web products, and ensuring brand consistency and quality in all print and digital products.
Update the Project Management Tracker on a daily basis to assist Project Manager with overall task and production management, provide ongoing updates and highlight any foreseeable deadline conflicts, roadblocks, or other potential concerns.
Provide status reports to Project Manager and Chief Content Strategist Provide guidance and suggestions on specifications and production methods to meet deadlines and budgets.
Proof all new content received from designers ahead of sending to translators, clients, and/or web developers.
Make edits as needed using Adobe Acrobat Pro and Illustrator.
Proofing includes reviewing grammar, images, translations, printing lines and bleeds (if applicable), 508 compliance, and continuity between products Coordinate all efforts with?communication vendors, including notification of new content, requests from grantees, and printing needs Coordinate with external vendors to get content translated and designed, coordinating with the rest of the team as needed.
Keep all content current and organized in Dropbox, shared drive, etc.
Required skills and qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience Six or more years of experience in a production or product-management role Outstanding written and oral communication skills, with a strong commitment to ensuring the accuracy and brand (or messaging consistency) of all materials created for the organization.
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to prioritize and undertake the multiple, diverse activities of different programs by developing and adhering to detailed workflow timelines.
Ability to respond to routine and special assignments in a fast-paced environment with flexibility and a willingness to meet project goals and organizational needs Ability to continually assess the effectiveness of communications, identifying and analyzing emerging and potential issues, challenges, and inefficiencies and communicating these to Project Manager and Chief Content Strategist Adept at building strong relationships with vendors and experience in negotiating with vendors Ability to manage a team of multidisciplinary content creators efficiently and effectively Proficiency with Excel and Google Sheets Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat and Illustrator Preferred skills and qualifications Spanish language skills preferred Understanding of offset and digital printing process Compensation, Benefits, and Status:
The salary for this full-time, exempt position is $75k to $90k based on experience and qualifications.

However, WCS is open to candidates with a preference for working remotely who are able to work a schedule that may vary somewhat between traditional eastern and pacific time work schedules.
