BGS is seeking an Advanced Manufacturing and Industrial Decarbonization Team Lead.
This Team Lead will oversee contractor staff and provide technical support to the Department of Energy's Advanced Materials and Manufacturing Technologies Office (AMMTO) and the Industrial Efficiency Decarbonization Office (IEDO) in Washington D.
C.
The programmatic missions of these offices are to increase U.
S.
industrial competitiveness and to drive economy-wide decarbonization.
AMMTO supports the national plan to revitalize American manufacturing, secure critical supply chains, and develop diverse innovation ecosystems leading to new manufacturing jobs and increased economic strength of the nation.
IEDO accelerates the innovation and adoption of cost-effective technologies that eliminate industrial greenhouse gas emissions.
This role will play a critical role in helping grow and manage the contractor team supporting these rapidly expanding offices.
As Team Lead, the candidate will provide oversight to the technical contractor team (primarily based in HQ), which includes scientific, engineering, technical, and managerial direction for problem definition, analysis, requirement development and implementation for complex systems to meet technical requirements.
They will make recommendations and advise on system development, improvements, optimization, or support efforts.
Will also provide programmatic planning and logistic support requiring attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects and tasks.
The Team Lead will provide technical support to the program in addition to supervisory support, so being able to balance competing priorities is critical to the success of this position.
The Team Lead must have a proven track record of leading by example - producing high quality, timely deliverables; being proactive and engaged with the client; identifying opportunities to improve processes and efficiency; and being a mentor to all team members.
Requirements of the position include:
Provide technical management, direction, and communication to a large team of technical staff and subcontractors.
Engage with the client on a regular basis to ensure needs and gaps are being addressed.
Provide project management, research, and analytical support for projects in the manufacturing and energy sectors.
Review and edit reports, talking points, articles, briefings, and presentations on subjects related to materials, advanced manufacturing, and decarbonization.
Work closely with AMMTO and IEDO program managers, leadership, and staff in a fast-paced team environment.
Provide connectivity to other technical areas and cross-cutting programs through activities such as tracking of activities, identifying synergies, and organizing meetings.
Represent the contractor team to senior government officials, congressional stakeholders, academia, and industry partners.
QualificationsRequired
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in relevant field.
10
years' experience.
Supervisory experience.
Knowledge of energy efficiency or energy management systems in industrial or commercial facilities.
Experience supporting government organizations.
Proven success working in a multi-disciplinary environment where teamwork is essential.
Demonstrated oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
Professional attitude, strong attention to detail, and highly proficient in Microsoft Office.
Self-starter, an ability to work both independently and as part of a highly dynamic collaborative team.
Preferred
Qualifications:
Advanced degree in engineering or physical science.

years supervisory experience leading technical staff.
Direct experience working in the manufacturing sector.
Experience working with EERE programs.
