The Chamber is looking for an executive to build the Energy Policy vertical, starting with Bitcoin mining policy.
The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience growing an early-stage government relations business or trade association organization to the next level.
Reporting to the Vice President of Policy, the Director of Digital Energy Policy will be responsible for leading our advocacy and educational efforts in this sector, growing our memberships, articulating our stance to policymakers, and driving strategic initiatives in line with the association's mission and vision.
Furthermore, this role will lead the Chamber's Mining Initiative, shaping its future direction and impact.
This is a high-impact role in a fast-paced environment that requires a strong understanding of energy policy, government affairs, and advocacy work within Washington, D.
C.
This role will also require a nuanced understanding of Proof of Work (PoW) digital asset mining, blockchain technology, energy markets, and carbon credits.
Essential
Responsibilities:
Serve as the association's leading expert and spokesperson on energy policy as it pertains to digital asset mining and blockchain technology.
Grow our energy membership beyond the Bitcoin miner core; expanding into traditional energy and power companies as well as companies in the nuclear and renewable ecosystems.
Develop and implement strategic energy policy initiatives that align with the association's mission.
Lead advocacy efforts, representing the association with policymakers, regulators, and other stakeholders.
Develop and maintain relationships with key players within the energy sector, including policy makers, regulatory agencies, and industry participants.
Provide thought leadership and educational resources to association members and the public on the intersection of energy policy and digital asset mining.
Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments and the rest of the Chamber's policy team to ensure consistent messaging and policy alignment.
Lead and drive the strategic direction of the Chamber's Mining Initiative, setting objectives, and ensuring progress and impactful outcomes.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Energy Studies, or a related field.
Advanced degree preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in energy policy, government affairs, or a related field.
Experience working within Washington, D.
C.
, with a deep understanding of the advocacy landscape.
Deep rolodex and connections to players across the energy ecosystem.
Deep knowledge of energy policy and its intersection with digital asset mining, specifically in relation to Proof of Work (PoW) protocols.
Demonstrated experience in policy development, advocacy, and government affairs.
Strong networking and relationship-building skills with the ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and work under tight deadlines.
Comfortable with uncertainty in a nascent, dynamic industry.
Ability to travel on ad hoc basis multiple times per year to represent the Chamber at conferences, advocacy forums and other events.
