J acobs is seeking a highly motivated team member to fill the Business Analyst/Technical Writer role on our Documentation TeamThe Documentation Team is an independent group that creates and maintains security processes and procedures for a Federal clientAs such, the team is tasked to manage the revision lifecycle of the documentation library, and maintain cybersecurity documents to ensure compliance with Federal policy and guidance set forth by Senior LeadersCandidates are expected to have a strong work ethic and possess the ability to work as a critical member of a team in pursuit of mission objectives and in support of our customerWe value detail-oriented candidates who can quickly respond to emerging tasksTo be successful in this role, you'll be able to rapidly adapt to client demands and business processesThe client is located in Washington, DC, but this work is 100% remote
Responsibilities:
o Provide analysis of both Cyber and Technical-related documentation of complex technology systems and their related compliance with government and agency policies and procedures.
o Collaborate with government staff, technical staff, and project technical writers to ensure the highest professional degree of operational and user documentation is delivered to the customer.
o Facilitate Kickoff Meetings (Annual Reviews) for documentation updates with a detailed agenda, recommended changes, and possible consolidation or retirement of documents.
o Review and update complex system operational and user documentation.
o Ensure all documentation, from whitepapers to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), are of the highest professional quality and ready for client distribution to technical and executive management.
o Create, revise, and publish cybersecurity documentation on the client's documentation library.
o Manage and maintain a documentation schedule for assigned documents to track revision cycles and frequency.
o Maintain a library of possible sources of updates and crosswalk with current security library to ensure compliance with new/existing Federal and Departmental policy.
o Provide monthly documentation updates associated with new procedures, processes, policies, or other security related issues.
o Maintain metrics associated with documentation updates, approval rates, timeliness, etc.
o Provide monthly updates on upcoming revisions, overdue revisions, emergency updates, and trend statistics.
o Create a variety of memos, reports, job aids, and/or checklists/forms for a wide range of uses.
o Create/Edit visual graphics, including workflow diagrams, swim lane diagrams, charts, and/or briefings/presentations.
o Manage, track, and follow-up on multiple documents (which vary in size, from 10 pages to hundreds of pages) simultaneously and create new documents as requested.
o Support the development of all types of documents and reports by developing and updating written presentations to improve the quality and enhance the usability of these documents.
o Produce visualizations (such as dashboard, charts, or graphs) that provide insights into process-improvementsHere's What You'll Need:

o Must be able to obtain a High Risk/Public Trust Security Clearanceo Must have good communication skills, both oral and written, and working familiarity with document editing, visual editing, and publishing toolso Bachelor's degreeo 3-5 years in a Technical Writer role supporting technology projects and programs for Federal Governmento Experience using graphics software (e.
g.
, Microsoft Visio, Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, etc.
)o Strong working knowledge with MS Office Suite (i.
e.
, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and SharePoint)o Strong English grammar, proofreading, copyediting skills, and familiarity with style guideso Ability to translate technical information to clear, readable documents to be used by technical and non-technical personnelo Ability to work in a team environmento Ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlineso Familiarity of the Federal Plain Language Act of 2010 Preferred:
