A Technical Writer/Editor is responsible for creating, editing, and proofreading technical documents and contentThey work closely with subject matter experts to gather information and transform complex concepts into clear and concise written materialsTheir role involves ensuring accuracy, consistency, and adherence to style guides and standardsTechnical Writers/Editors may also collaborate with other teams, such as graphic designers and illustrators, to enhance the visual appeal of the documentsStrong writing and communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to translate technical information for a non-technical audience are essential in this roleCompensation &

Estimated Starting Salary Range for Technical Writer/Editor:

45 hourly (SCA) Pay commensurate with experienceFull time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K and other possible benefits as providedBenefits are subject to change with or without noticeTechnical Writer/Editor Responsibilities Include:
o Supports J/TIP's efforts on the production of the annual Trafficking in Persons (TIP) Report.
o Performs line editing for clarity and style of TIP Report Narratives.
o Assists in proofreading the entire publication and conducting final product review, consolidating edits, coordinating final review by leadership on related materials.
o Assists in securing Department clearance from various stakeholders, coordinate with the Department's Office of Global Publishing Solutions (GPS) to assist with the compilation and updating of the text of the TIP Report, ensuring that all final changes are accurately made.
o Supports meetings to review the status of TIP Report production.
o Provides administrative and technical support, including some qualitative and quantitative research in support of the Report production.
o Attends office, team, and program meetings, as required.
o Performs other job-related duties as assignedTechnical Writer/Editor Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:
o Bachelor's degree in related field and 3 years of demonstrated strong analytical writing and oral communications, including experience copy editing.
o Critical attention to detail and demonstrated ability to work under tight deadlines.
o Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines, and work both independently and in a team environment.
o Knowledge of trafficking in persons.
o Must have a Secret clearance.
