Position Summary ETS's Product Innovation and Development division is seeking a creative and innovative individual to serve as Senior UX Designer.
We are user-obsessed across all phases of research, design, and development with a focus on developing adaptive and personalized learning products with compelling user interfaces and AI-enhanced experiences.
Our products are built on a foundation of learning and cognitive science principles that leverage interactive task design, machine learning, and data sciences to be integrated in various teaching, learning, and assessment solutions.
The Senior UX Designer will work in a cross-functional team of researchers and scientists to (a) identify target market and user segments (b) engage with users in interviews, usability tests and other data collection activities to understand their needs and lead the end-to-end user experience design, wireframing, and documentation for engaging, interactive, and innovative capabilities, (c) Implement best practices for user experience design and (d) collaborate with both internal and external colleagues and consultants to ensure on-time completion of project goals.
The Senior UX Designer collaborates closely with UX Researchers, UI Designers, Developers, and Product Owners.
Responsibilities
Lead the development of the end-to-end user experience throughout the product development lifecycle to align with business goals and user needs for digital products, websites, and applications, ensuring a seamless and engaging user experience.

Define Information Architecture through the creation of website sitemaps, navigation, hierarchies, and categorizations that allow users to understand where they are, and where the information they want is in relation to their current position.

Translate business requirements into user flows, wireframes, interactive prototypes, to effectively communicate experience concepts and principles.

Plan, execute, and analyze usability testing sessions.

Use collected information from research and testing to translate ideas from users into engaging, accessible, and highly usable designs.

Identify and conduct the appropriate type of audit (competitive, heuristic, usability) to gather insights and validate design decisions.

Collaborate with UX researchers, UI designers, learning scientists, instructional designers, developers, and product owners in cross-functional agile teams to ensure the successful implementation of a product that adheres to business goals and conforms to ETS' technical, accessibility and architectural standards.

Provide mentorship and guidance to junior and mid-level UX designers, fostering their growth and development.

Develop and maintain UX documentation, including user flows, sitemaps, annotated wireframes, and design requirements to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Facilitate ideation and working sessions using Design Thinking and human-centered design methods and tools with cross-functional teams.

Stay at the forefront of UX trends, patterns, and best practices to help foster innovation within the team.

Remain current with usability and accessibility guidelines that change with evolving and emerging technologies.

Advocate for user-centered design and research principles and best practices, ensuring that the user's perspective is integrated into all design decisions.
Education, Certifications, or Special Licenses:

Bachelor's or higher in User Experience, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, Learning Sciences, Cognitive Science, or related creative field.
Relevant Years of
Experience:

At least 5 years of professional experience in UX design, or similar role with a proven track record and a robust portfolio demonstrating a history of impactful, results-driven, and innovative solutions.
Candidates with less or more experience will be considered at the appropriate level.
Other Requirements:

Complete fluency in design tools, including but not limited to Figma (required) and Adobe Creative Suite.

Knowledge of accessibility and usability best practices.

Experience conducting requirements-gathering sessions, usability testing, and building prototypes.

Experience designing for responsive products and mobile/desktop applications.

Ability to work collaboratively and effectively in agile teams and with cross-divisional stakeholder groups.

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex user needs into intuitive and elegant design solutions.

In-depth understanding of user-centered design principles, design thinking methodologies, and usability best practices.

Ability to conduct usability tests, gather user insights, and apply data-driven insights to inform design decisions.

Excellent communication and presentation skills to articulate user experience concepts and decisions to key stakeholders and cross-functional teams.

Possess excellent organizational skills to prioritize workload across several projects, whilst maintaining strong attention to detail.

Familiarity with front-end development principles and the ability to collaborate effectively with developers.

Experience working with AI, ed-tech, teaching and learning, and/or language learning a plus.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
