MonthsSummary of Duties:
The Portfolio Manager - Mid is responsible for supporting the Project Controls team and mentoring and facilitating multiple IT PMs in learning and adhering to PMO standards.
The Portfolio Manager will be requested to support budget, schedule and capital call activities at the portfolio and project level across multiple programs and projects.
Key
Responsibilities:
Work with Project Managers to ensure timely and high-quality Budget management, Schedule management, and reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
Perform audit and quality control of project deliverables and reporting on progress and quality of the deliverables.
Support and mentor PMs so they can follow Amtrak's Budget process and activities.
Support budget, schedule, resource and capital call activities at the portfolio and project level across multiple programs and projects.
Experience with development and review of forecasts and Annual Operating Plans (AOP), and performing detailed financial analysisConduct analysis as part of continuous process improvement activitiesExperience with program and project reportingRequired Skills & Work
Experience:
Resources must have 8 to 13 years of hands-on program and project management experience, including four to six years hands-on project financial management experience from project initiation to implementation using formal project management methodologies and processes.
Resources must have extensive experience in developing financial aspects of portfolio capital and operating plans and forecasts, to include accrual management.
High-level of proficiency using Microsoft Project and ExcelExperience training project managers on project management best practices as defined in Project Management Book of Knowledge (PMBOK).
PMP certification and undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration/Management.
Demonstrated highly effective communicator and writer, able to tailor message to receiving audience.
Demonstrated experience supporting multiple projects simultaneously.

Desire thirteen plus years of hands-on program and project management experience, including eight plus years' hands-on project financial management experience from project initiation to implementation using formal project management methodologies and processes.
