NextGen America is currently seeking a proactive, detail-oriented communications professional to join our team as a State Press Secretary, who will provide overall press and communications support to the Communications Team.
This person should have at least one year of communications experience, preferably on a political campaign, at a nonprofit advocacy group, or similar mission-driven organization.
The ideal candidate has a passion for politics and a belief that young people will make the difference in America's future.

11/15/2024 WHAT YOU'LL ACHIEVE:
Assist the National Press Secretary with day-to-day administrative support and execute in-state projects, as assigned.
Serve as a primary point of contact for state media inquiries and coordinate interviews with NextGen spokespeople.
Identify pitch opportunities to amplify NextGen's in-state work.
Write, edit and publish press releases, statements, memos, and other communications materials under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Build and manage press lists of state-level reporters, editors, and producers in print, television, online, and radio.
Track and compile daily media coverage and work with other members of the team to manage the media monitoring process.
Other responsibilities as assigned.
ABOUT YOU:
At least one year of professional experience in the communications field.
Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and proactively in an all-remote environment, remain flexible and adaptable as needs and priorities change and produce high-quality copy under pressure.
Driven by a strong work ethic and the drive to take initiative.

Experience with communications tools like MailChimp and Cision and maintaining relationships with vendors and external partners.

SALARY INFORMATION:
The starting salary range for this position is $72,000 - $85,000.
The final base salary will be determined by various factors, including individual qualifications and internal parity, which will be objectively assessed during the interview process.
