Research Scientist Manager, ML and 3D Computer Vision

The Meta Reality Labs Research Team brings together a world-class team of researchers, developers, and engineers to create the future of AI-enabled AR and VR devices.
The Surreal Vision group is seeking a Research Scientist Manager to lead a world-class team of Research Scientists and Engineers, to research and develop the next generation of egocentric machine perception functionalities that will enable contextual-AI-enabled AR devices.
We do this by developing, and leveraging, Project Aria.
This role focuses on researching and formulating a new generation of end-to-end, real-time, egocentric methods and models for identifying objects the wearer interacts with and why, as well as building 3D maps of relevant objects around them; using 3D computer vision and state of the art ML and genAI methods.
Research Scientist Manager, ML and 3D Computer Vision ResponsibilitiesManage a team of research scientists and research engineers, providing career guidance, regular feedback and tracking performance.
Build and execute on a long-term vision and strategy for egocentric machine perception capabilities that can inform and provide long- and short-term situational context for AI-enabled devices.
Build and execute on a plan for research and engineering in the necessary technologies including 2D and 3D object tracking, segmentation and recognitionaction recognition, hand and body tracking and spatial reasoning.
Work with cross functional teams to achieve impactful outcomes.
This includes product managers, operations teams, data scientists, and product partner teams, and engineering teams.
Minimum QualificationsResearch and/or work experience in machine learning, deep learning, and computer vision in both 2D and 3D.
Experience in Python, C/C++, system design.
Proven track record of achieving results as demonstrated by grants, fellowships, patents, as well as first-authored publications at workshops or conferences such as CVPR, ECCV, ICCV, SIGGRAPH or similar.
A PhD in computer science, mathematics or related field.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
