The VR Shell team's mission is to deliver a system platform that enables developers to build rich spatial experiences and applications on top of the core Android operating system.
As a central component at the heart of the system, VR Shell interacts at multiple levels with applications - from lifecycle to window management and everything in between.
We are building a system with deep Android integration and are looking for an engineering manager to help us build much deeper into the OS, building APIs and frameworks for internal and external developers, and enabling access to applications seamlessly across any space in VR.
A successful candidate in this role is self-driven, has strong communication skills, and experience driving projects successfully across multiple teams working on different areas of a product stack.
Software Engineering Manager - VR Shell ResponsibilitiesManage engineering teams by mentoring, empowering their growth, and helping them deliver impact.
Champion engineering and operational excellence, establishing metrics and processes for regular assessment and improvement.
Communicate cross-functionally across various teams, organizations and internal and external stakeholders to drive engineering efforts.
Use technical expertise and cross-functional relationships to identify strategic, long-term, and ambitious engineering goals, and intermediate milestones.
Use strategic influence and cross-functional relationships to drive progress on goals.
Recruit engineers, identifying talent gaps and the people required to fill them.
Create career development plans, manage performance and performance reviews.
Minimum Qualifications4
years experience managing engineers.
