Description
The Senior Chemical Biological (CB) Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising the maintenance and sustainment of the Program for Response Options and Technology Enhancements for Chemical/Biological Terrorism (PROTECT) System Chemical Warfare (CW) Chemical Agent Detectors and associated support equipment. The Maintenance Supervisor will oversee the maintenance, repair, and/or replacement of WMATA-owned chemical-biological detection systems located in 24 Metrorail stations in the National Capital Region.
The CB Maintenance Supervisor leads the Maintenance Section and manages the maintenance of the chemical detector system by ensuring the following is accomplished:
Performance of all WMATA-approved preventative, scheduled, and unscheduled maintenance.
Diagnose detector faults and failures, including problems with detectors that have excessive false alarms, within a 24-hour period.
Remove and return detectors that have failures, excessive alarms or other anomalies to the manufacturer for testing and refurbishment.
Maintain a log and report on a monthly basis of all refurbished detectors.
Remove and return detector modules (if required) back to the manufacturer for refurbishment at least once per year or sooner if warranted by the results of aging tests.
Oversee and ensure a fully trained and certified maintenance work force to maintain the chemical detector system.
Maintain sufficient sparing to ensure that all stations have the minimal amount of sensors operational at all times.
Perform emergency services if the minimum amount of sensors is not in operation at a station.
Maintain and publish a database of detector performance histories and problems as a function of the serial number of the detector and the history of movement between the manufacturer and the WMATA.
Evaluate the output of the Nagios or other monitoring system daily to determine if there are any PROTECT System problems and initiate corrective action.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
