Applications will be accepted from United States citizens and nationals Permanent Full Time This position is for a painter assigned to the Paint Shop of the National Gallery of Art U.S. citizenship is required Incumbent is assigned to the Paint Shop of the National Gallery of Art's Facilities Management Division and employs skilled techniques in the preparation of a variety of surfaces and in the application of coating materials to obtain the desired result. Work assignments include both interior and exterior surfaces such as offices, corridors, stairwells, floors, hallways, cabinets, bookcases, walls, windows, gutters, and cornices. Prepares surfaces for new coating materials (paint, shellac, varnish, enamel, lacquer, stain, bonding agents, pre-coating material, epoxy resin) and removes the old finish by sanding, scraping, brushing, or using steel wool, paint remover or burning. Interior wall surfaces may require drywall repair and the use of taping knives and wall preparation and finishing before paint is applied. Prepares coating materials by tinting, toning, matching, blending and mixing various additives to achieve desired colors, tones, and shades and applies them by brushes, rollers, and spray guns. Physical requirements: Any selected candidate must show evidence of meeting the physical requirements of the position. This may require the selected candidate to obtain a medial examination from a licensed medical practitioner. The selected individual must be able to lift own weight and carry tools, equipment, and parts weighing up to 80 pounds. He/She will be required to work in confined space areas and from ladders, scaffolding, platforms, and other hard-to-reach places. All qualified candidates will be assigned to one of three pre-determined quality categories. This evaluation will be based on the personal, educational and work experience indicated in the candidate's r sum and responses to the applicant questions. The three pre-determined quality categories are: Best-qualified; Well qualified; and Qualified.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
